Fighting Together

Parkinson’s disease is vicious.

It pulls no punches and it doesn't fight fair.

It can be embarrassing.

It can be isolating.

It can cause depression and apathy.

It wants to shrink you down to nothing.

But, with good community, instruction, motivation and information, you can fight it.

We are here to give local people every chance and every weapon in the known arsenal to

bring the fight to Parkinson's.

What your donations do

Right Here. Right Now.

PK Hope is Alive is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit Parkinson's support group (#80-0436475)   that is responsible for allocating the funds from Punching for Parkinson's.  Their mission is to help improve their quality of life of people with Parkinson's throughout East Tennessee (not just in their support group).

Punching for Parkinson's is now in it's third year

-The money we raised was used to purchase a rack of 60 dumbbells for the local Rock Steady Boxing affiliate.

-We have also been able to provide scholarships for several Parkinson's fighters to attend local exercise programs.

-We purchased new equipment for local exercise programs to help them serve our Parkinson's community better.

-PK Hope is Alive provided free guided monthly Nordic Walking treks to local people with Parkinson's.  Nordic Walking has been shown to be exceptional in helping PD fighters improve their gait and get a great full-body workout in the outdoors.

Scholarships, equipment, programs,  classes, home modifications.   Anything that will help local people fighting Parkinson's get the boost they need to help them live their fullest life.

1 Million and Growing

At least one million people in America live with Parkinson’s disease and at least 90,000 more are diagnosed every year.

This is more than the combined number of people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS).

Parkinson’s impacts every aspect of life; social, physical, cognitive, marital, financial and emotional.

There is no cure and no known cause.

Extremely well!

Volunteers sign up to be boxers.

The boxers ask for per-punch pledges and flat donations via email, social media and locally.

On the day of the event, all the boxers gather up and throw as many punches as they each can in one minute.

The money is automatically collected and deposited to your organization.

Sweet and simple.

We have done this before.  Over 5 years we more than tripled our donations and quadrupled the number of people reached.

You get:

  • A start to finish timeline to keep on on track and maximize the donation potential.
  • Recommendations and requirements for planning, timing, location, marketing, committee members and recipients.
  • Checklists to make sure you did everything you can to reach as many people as possible.
  • Ideas, recommendations and "best practices".
  • Custom social posts, emails, flyers and posters.  You can use them as-is or customize them for your event.
  • Custom online donation and tracking platform.  Donors and participants can track the progress with leaderboards, see a grand tally of all the donations, see a countdown timer and watch the live streamed event.
  • Secure online donation processing from anywhere in the word.
  • Recommendations and requirements for the final event  - t-shirts, tables, chairs, food, volunteer jobs, forms, scripts, banners, posters, sponsor posters, etc. (We can print your posters and banners an for additional fee.)
  • Thank you notes for your donors, sponsors and participants so they will come back next year.
  • Gotchas and Non-recommendations to keep your event simple, short and effective.  It is easy to clutter up a fundraiser with raffles, bake sales, auctions, vendors, contests, speakers, sales pitches, celebrities and awards.

We require that the recipients of the funds from Punching for Parkinson's  eventsbe valid 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations so that all of the donations are tax deductible.

Request a Consultation so we can talk through the process and make sure that a Punching for Parkinson's event is a good fit for you and your organization.

The organization receiving the funds must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.   We will contact the organization to confirm their status and verify their intent to support the Parkinson's community or research for the cure.

The funds will go directly the non-profit of your choosing after all of the pledges and donations have been processed.
